NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC.
NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC. installed PASSTO collection boxes, developed by ECOMMIT(*1), at NX GROUP buildings and conducted a proof-of-concept test from April to September 2024 to promote awareness of the circular economy among employees.
PASSTO boxes serve as circulation points, collecting rarely used items for reuse by others instead of discarding them.
The proof-of-concept test targeted clothing for collection, yielding a total of 364 kg of unwanted clothing collected from office buildings. The resource recycling rate was 99.3%, and the CO2 emission reduction rate compared to simple incineration was 81%, resulting in a CO2 emission reduction effect of 245.1 kg. NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC. is considering the full-scale implementation of PASSTO based on the results of this proof-of-concept test.
The company aims to raise environmental awareness and encourage behavior changes among NX GROUP employees through PASSTO. NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC. seeks to apply these changes to our logistics business to help create a sustainable society.
