NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC.
In April 2024, NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC. partnered with ECOMMIT Co., Ltd.* on a project to collect clothing items for reuse and recycling. The companies set up a collection box for unwanted clothing items in NX GROUP head office building and asked employees to bring still usable but unwanted clothing items that would otherwise be thrown out.
NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC. aims to raise employee awareness through casual participation in activities that encourage living the broad concepts of sustainability and ecology in one’s personal life. The Company hopes to increase project participation by placing collection boxes at other companies with promising results. For this reason, the Company is collecting data to potentially turn this initiative into a business.
Clothing items collected during the month of April amounted to 115.4 kg, with most items being eligible for reuse. Through these efforts, NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC. reduced CO2 emissions by 81% (77.5 kg ) compared to emissions from the simple incineration of clothing.
