Personal Data Protection Policy

NIPPON EXPRESS Holdings Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) believes that it must fulfill its corporate social responsibilities through its business activities centered on logistics in order to create a sustainable society.

To this end, we will comply with all laws, international rules, and the spirit thereof, both in Japan and globally, and act in a socially conscientious manner.

Accordingly, we believe that the basis of our business activities is to strive to properly manage the protection of personal information.

Based on this principle, we have hereby established the “Personal Information Protection Policy,” and have decided to comply with laws and relevant regulations concerning the protection of personal information, and to establish the Company rules and systems appropriate to our Corporate Philosophy and businesses.

We will strive to protect personal information by ensuring that all employees and executives comply with the “Personal Information Protection Management System” (this Policy, system, internal rules and regulations concerning the protection of personal information, etc.), which was formulated based on this Policy.

1. Respect for individuals’ personal information

We acquire personal information in an appropriate manner. In addition, personal information shall be used within the scope of the specified purpose of use, except under laws and regulations. We will not handle personal information beyond the scope necessary for the achievement of the purpose of use and will take actions to that end. In addition, we will not provide personal information or specific personal information to a third party without the consent of the individual, except under laws and regulations.

2. Personal information protection system

In order to properly protect and manage personal information, we will appoint a person in charge of protection and management of persona information, and establish a personal information protection system that clarifies roles and responsibilities.

3. Secured management of personal information

We will take necessary preventive and corrective measures and properly manage all personal information in our possession in order to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of personal information.

In addition, when the processing of personal information, etc. is entrusted to a third party, the Company shall conclude an agreement that stipulates the protection of personal information, and shall manage and supervise such agreement to ensure proper handling.

4. Compliance with laws and national guidelines and other norms concerning the handling of personal information

We comply with the laws and regulations governing the handling of personal information, as well as with the guidelines and other standards set by the government.

5. Response to complaints and consultations

We will respond appropriately and promptly by establishing the complaints and consultation desk concerning the handling of personal information and the personal information protection management system.

6. Continuing improvement of personal information protection management system

We will review and continuously improve the “Personal Information Protection Management System” in response to changes in the nature of our business and changes in the legal, social, and IT environments surrounding our business.
