NIPPON EXPRESS CO., LTD. launched the NX Universal Harmonious Work Warehouse project to remove barriers for people who face difficulties working in warehouses. They strive to do so by introducing advanced logistics robots and work support devices and improving work environments. They strive to ensure the productivity of all workers through this project and expand into previously untapped labor markets for our company. In doing so, they aim to secure our workforce and create a sustainable society.
The first phase of the project will introduce short-range mobility devices from WHILL Inc. to establish warehouses that allow people who have difficulty walking to act and work independently. Linking this next-generation mobility with automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) allows us to establish environments that enable picking and other in-warehouse operations. Furthermore, they partnered with Mirairo Inc. to foster awareness and prepare for the acceptance of diverse work styles. Mirairo Inc. provides universal design solutions leveraging diverse employee perspectives.
They plan to expand this initiative to multiple locations going forward and build NX Universal Harmonious Work Warehouse to accommodate further diversity.
