Environmental Value

In the United States, a goal has been set to have 50% of new vehicle sold be zero-emission vehicles, electric vehicles, etc. by 2030. California, in particular, aims for all mid-size and heavy-duty vehicles, including trucks and buses, to be zero-emission by 2045. Therefore, it is essential for companies to adopt zero-emission vehicles to maintain and expand their business in the future.

Nippon Express USA., Inc (NEU) introduced its first EV trucks in May 2024, starting operations at the San Antonio, Texas office. By the end of fiscal year 2024, NEU plans to deploy a total of 14 trucks at locations such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and Raleigh, North Carolina. In the first year of implementation, NEU expects to reduce CO2 emissions from its business operations by approximately 11% annually.

Additionally, for customers who face challenges in reducing CO2 emissions from fuel combustion (Scope 1 and 2), NEU sets its own EV truck operation schedules and quantifies the reducible CO2 emissions. Thereby supporting the reduction of CO2 emissions in the supply chain (Scope 3). Demand is particularly high among pharmaceutical manufacturers and automotive-related manufacturers. NEU has already begun operations to help customers maintain their businesses by reducing Scope 3 emissions.
