Nippon Express (China) Co., Ltd. (Chairman: Sumitoshi Matsuo; hereinafter "NX China"), a group company of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC. (President: Satoshi Horikiri), presented its 17th endowed lecture and conducted a scholarship award ceremony on Friday, May 30 at Beijing Wuzi University.
Founded in 1980, Beijing Wuzi University (hereinafter "BWU") is an institution of higher learning specializing in logistics and distribution, and about 8,000 students are currently enrolled in its nine undergraduate faculties and 28 departments. One of these faculties, the School of Logistics established in 2006, ranks among China's best in its field and offers well-equipped educational facilities and an outstanding research environment. NX China signed a letter of intent on strategic cooperation with BWU in 2012, and has since actively supported projects to develop logistics personnel and contributed to academic and industrial progress in logistics by establishing "NX Scholarships", presenting endowed lectures, organizing "NX International Logistics Classes", and engaging in efforts of various formats designed to continually deepen industry-academia collaboration.
In the 17th endowed lecture - entitled "Vocational Skills and Cutting-Edge Topics in Logistics: Air Transport Edition" - Wenjun Li, Deputy Regional General Manager for the East Asia Region, used global case studies to explain market trends, necessary skills, and future prospects for the field of air transport in an easy-to-understand manner. The approximately 60 students in attendance listened attentively and then took part in lively discussions on cross-border logistics solutions and other topics during the Q&A session. At the scholarship award ceremony, ten students awarded 2025 NX Scholarships were presented with certificates of recognition. The recipients were offered words of congratulation and encouragement conveying a message of hope that they would go on to play dynamic roles in the global logistics industry in the future and contribute to social development.
The NX Group will continue actively engaging in social contribution activities in the East Asia Region to help develop human resources capable of pursuing successful careers in the logistics industry.
