Spain is one of the world's top automobile-producing countries, and many European, American, and Asian automakers as well as their Japanese counterparts have established operations in the country.
The new NX-YAZAKI Palencia Warehouse, jointly established by NX Spain and YAZAKI Europe in January 2024, serves as an important node in the supply chain between Africa and Europe, facilitating the supply of parts to automobile manufacturers and other mobility-related firms based in Europe (Spain, France, UK, Portugal, Romania, Turkey, etc.).
The warehouse is a single-story building with a total floor area of 12,000m2 and is equipped with six truck docks and side loading doors (with six more docks to be added in 2025), solar panels and a comprehensive CCTV security system. In addition to earning a "Very Good" BREEAM* rating, this warehouse has created direct local employment for warehouse operators, logistics technicians and engineers, contributing to the revitalization of the Spanish economy.

The opening ceremony was attended by Japanese Ambassador to Spain Takahiro Nakamae, YAZAKI EMEA Chairman Munenori Yamada and COO Andreas Di Vece, and NX Europe President Shinichi Kakiyama as well as local authorities and representatives from major European automakers. COO Di Vece declared, "We will meet the needs of the diversifying automotive market and optimize operating costs through traceability and automation using state-of-the-art technology", while Chairman Yamada stressed, "This warehouse represents our expectations for the future and is a strong statement of intent by the YAZAKI Group and the NX Group to strongly promote regional development in Spain."

The NX Group has positioned the mobility industry as a priority industry in the "NX Group Business Plan 2028: Dynamic Growth 2.0 - Accelerating Sustainable Growth", and it has accordingly upped the pace of its logistics initiatives connected with the automotive industry. The Group will continue expanding its global logistics network to support its customers' supply chains.
