Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (President: Shinjiro Takezoe), a group company of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC. (President: Satoshi Horikiri), has begun offering "Protect Box Global," an international transport service that uses "Protect Box", a small-lot cargo transport product designed for corporate use.
■ Background to development
The Protect Box came into service throughout Japan in 2019 as a packing tool for domestic transport. Since it can be used on all modes of transport - ground, sea, and air - the Protect Box has become the choice of many customers. Anticipating greater demand for its deployment in international transport as well, Nippon Express has developed a service that expands the scope of utilization to make Protect Boxes available for international transport as well. The number of units needed for a given shipment can be provided for a customer's exclusive use.

①Light and durable
The side and end panels use a material called TECCELL(*), making the Protect Box light and strong. International transport involves longer transport distances and times than domestic transport, and the more times the cargo is handled during transport, the greater the risk of cargo contamination and damage, but cargo can be securely protected with Protect Boxes. When assembled, Protect Boxes can be stacked two-high.
②Cost-saving
Less packing material (stretch film, AirCap bubble wrap, etc.) is needed than for standard pallet packing, reducing packing material and labor costs.
③Sustainable
Protect Boxes are durable and can be used repeatedly. Retrieving Protect Boxes when making deliveries ensures that no waste is produced and thus eliminates the need for waste disposal. In addition, each Protect Box reduces CO2 emissions by 0.19 kg compared to general pallet packing using stretch film.
