NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC. (Mitsuru Saito, President), was recently selected as one of the top 200 companies in the "Asia-Pacific Climate Change Leaders" survey jointly conducted by Nikkei Inc.'s flagship English-language publication Nikkei Asia, the UK's Financial Times and the German market/consumer data company Statista.
Nikkei Asia, an English-language publication of Nikkei Inc., joined with the UK's Financial Times and the German research firm Statista in carrying out the "Asia-Pacific Climate Change Leaders" survey that examined the degree to which companies headquartered in 14 Asia-Pacific countries/regions had reduced their greenhouse gas emissions between 2015 and 2020; companies from 12 countries/regions, including 86 companies in Japan, 47 companies in Australia and 20 companies in India, were ranked in the top 200.
The Nippon Express Group has positioned climate change as one of the material issues to be addressed in realizing the Group's Long-term Vision of becoming "a logistics company with a strong presence in the global market," and it is actively introducing eco-friendly vehicles and LED lighting to reduce the CO2 emissions generated by its business activities. By engaging in joint deliveries, promoting modal shifts and otherwise working to create products and services that help customers cut their own CO2 emissions, the Group is helping to conserve the global environment, a prerequisite for business survival, while pursuing opportunities for business growth.
