Nippon Express (Shanghai) begins coronavirus disinfection service for consolidated import ocean cargo

Providing safe and secure service as a COVID-conscious CFS

Nippon Express (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (Toru Naono, Managing Director; hereinafter, "NE Shanghai"), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President), on May 18 launched an anti-coronavirus disinfection service for consolidated import ocean cargo arriving in Shanghai.

With coronavirus infections spreading around the world, confirmed cases of coronavirus being detected on cargo have been reported. To allow consignees to take receipt of cargo in a safe and secure state under these circumstances, there is a growing need for pre-delivery disinfection services for cargo.

NE Shanghai's CFS recently began offering interested customers a disinfection service that uses spraying equipment to disinfect the exterior surfaces of consolidated import ocean cargo for shipments arranged by Nippon Express from Japan (Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Kobe, Hakata and Moji), Hong Kong, the Philippines, Thailand and other countries.

The CFS also allows cashless payments via WeChat and Alipay. This, alongside its disinfection service, reflects NE Shanghai's commitment to providing safe and secure service as a COVID-conscious CFS by eliminating person-to-person contact as much as possible.
