Nippon Express launches new domestic transport service combining Arrow Express services with the new "Protect Box"

Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President), on Wednesday, April 1 will launch a new product combining its Arrow Express transport services with the new "Protect Box" introduced last year in order to enhance the services provided through its domestic transport network.

This new transport service will combine Arrow Express, a transport product employing Nippon Express's nationwide network primarily to distribute commercial goods between companies, with the new "Protect Box".

The service will be offered from April in Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, and Osaka, and planning is underway to steadily extend availability to Sapporo, Sendai, Hiroshima, Fukuoka and other locations.

[Features of new service and "Protect Box"]

• This service gives customers a space of about one cubic meter (maximum load: 350kg) to freely use for shipping their cargo.
• Easy-to-understand package rates and lead times have been established for each prefecture.
• Two-tier loading improves loading efficiency for cargo that should not be stacked or have other cargo placed on top of it.
• The box can be easily assembled and disassembled by one person.
• Cargo can be locked using shipping container seals to ensure security during transport.
• The box is very durable and can be used repeatedly, meaning less use of protective/packing material, less waste generated, and more eco-friendly transport.

[Future plans]
Nippon Express will be pushing ahead with the development of new products that combine domestic ground, sea and air transport modes with the Protect Box.
