Nippon Express participates in "Ima no Africa" event

Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President) recently participated in the "Ima no Africa" ("Africa Now") two-day event held on Saturday, May 25, and Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Yokohama's Zou-no-hana Park.

"Ima no Africa" is hosted by the African Diplomatic Corps (ADC) comprising 38 African ambassadors to Japan and designed to introduce African culture and the continent's economic potential through exhibition booths set up by the 38 embassies as well as through dance and fashion shows. Following up on last year's inaugural event, this second "Ima no Africa" served as a pre-event for the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD VII) to be held in Yokohama this coming August.

Nippon Express set up a Kenya Branch in Nairobi, Kenya's capital, in August 2017 as its first sales location in Africa. In December of that same year, a Morocco Branch based in Casablanca was opened to provide logistics services.

Nippon Express operated a booth on both days of the event, introducing visitors to its Africa-related business operations and the services being provided by its African business locations, and handed out Kenyan-grown roses, shipments of which Nippon Express now handles regularly.

Nippon Express is committed to further enhancing its logistics services in Africa to meet the logistics needs of its customers.
