Press Release

Nippon Express Malaysia building new warehouse in Shah Alam Industrial Park

Nippon Express (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (Akiya Hayase, President; hereinafter, "NEM"), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President), held a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, May 9, for a new warehouse to be built in the Shah Alam Industrial Park in Selangor Province.

Malaysia's economy has maintained a steady growth rate of about 5% in recent years. Personal consumption has also grown considerably due to rising national income, and demand for domestic logistics/warehousing is expected to climb as the volume of consumer goods on the market expands.

The Shah Alam Industrial Park is near the capital city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's largest market, and easy access to the major seaport of Port Klang and to Kuala Lumpur International Airport makes this a favorable location for a logistics hub.

NEM decided to establish this new facility to meet the increasingly sophisticated needs of its customers for such services as domestic sales logistics, manufacturing logistics (just-in-time delivery), temperature-controlled storage using air-conditioned facilities and storage/distribution of halal products.
