Nittsu Logistics Myanmar holds opening ceremony for Thilawa Logistics Center

Nittsu Logistics Myanmar Co., Ltd. (Hiroshi Nojiri, President), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President), held a ceremony on June 1 to mark the opening of the Thilawa Logistics Center, a new multifunctional logistics warehouse in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Among the guests attending this ceremony were Yangon Region Chief Minister Min Thein, and H.E. Tateshi Higuchi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, with representatives from Japanese companies operating in Myanmar making up the better part of the approximately 170 participants.

The recently opened Logistics Center offers bonded storage and distribution processing services utilizing the bonded cargo functions available nowhere else in Myanmar but the Thilawa SEZ. Given Myanmar's hot and humid climate, the facility is also equipped with a 1,000m2 temperature-controlled and dehumidified warehouse for the storage of apparel and chemical products requiring a temperature-controlled and anti-fungal environment.

With Myanmar expected to see further development, Nittsu Logistics Myanmar will continue enhancing its logistics functions in Myanmar to meet the full range of customer needs and further expand its global logistics business.
