Aimed at improving chemical product logistics handling within China
Nippon Express (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (Kazuoki Oguro, President), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Kenji Watanabe, President), on December 26, 2016 concluded a business partnership agreement with Sinotrans Chemical International Logistics Co., Ltd. (Wang Dupeng, General Manager; hereinafter, "Sinotrans Chemical Logistics"), a member of the Sinotrans Group, China's largest customs clearance and logistics company, aimed at pursuing new sales and expanding the scope of business operations in the transport of chemical products, including hazardous goods.
Sinotrans Chemical Logistics is a top-class logistics company in the transport of chemical products and hazardous goods in China, operating its own fleet of approximately 360 vehicles within the country. It also has its own 36,450m2 warehouse for storing hazardous materials (Class A: 2,905m2, Class B: 10,383m2, Class C: 23,162m2) in Shanghai's Fengxian District, and provides storage and delivery services for various types of hazardous goods (including poisonous and deleterious substances).
The August 2015 explosions in Tianjin led to a tightening of regulations on companies handling hazardous goods within China, but demand among chemical manufacturers for chemical and hazardous goods transport has not fallen off at all.
Combining the wealth of transport services offered inside and outside China by Nippon Express with the high-quality hazardous goods transport services available from Sinotrans Chemical Logistics will enable the two companies to provide services that meet customer demand for the transport of chemical products and raw materials requiring particular attention to safety.
Nippon Express will be leveraging this strategic business partnership to enhance its services in order to better support chemical and hazardous goods transport and satisfy the needs of its customers.
