PT Nippon Express Indonesia (Tetsuji Yonaiyama, President), a subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President), on May 15 opened a new office in the port city of Balikpapan in East Kalimantan.
Balikpapan has a population of 730,000 (2015) as well as an abundance of natural resources, and its principal products are lumber, mineral resources (coal, copper, tin, etc.) and petroleum products. These features have drawn many leading construction machinery and mining-related companies to the area and, with greater need for logistics services anticipated, a new sales office was set up in this locale.
This new sales office in Balikpapan is Nippon Express' 14th business location in Indonesia.
