Nippon Express revamps Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok-Hanoi consolidated transport services

Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Kenji Watanabe, President), has revamped two of the cross-border ground transport services it offers in East/Southeast Asia - its consolidated transport services between Bangkok and Hanoi (product name: NEXSAO HB1500-LCL) and between Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur (product name: NEXSAO BLK1600-LCL) - effective March 1.

Background

Demand has risen year after year for cross-border ground transport services combining the advantages of shorter lead times than maritime transport and lower costs than air transport.

In addition to reserved transport using one truck per customer, needs have also grown for just-in-time delivery on the particularly high-demand Bangkok-Hanoi and Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur routes.

Accordingly, Nippon Express has established fixed schedules, revamped its freight rate structure, and added transport tracking functions to make these services more user-friendly for customers.

Service upgrades

  1. Establishment of regular consolidated transport schedules
    • Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur
         Every weekday, Monday to Friday
    • Bangkok-Hanoi
From Bangkok to Hanoi: once weekly; Friday departure and Monday arrival (CFS to CFS)
From Hanoi to Bangkok: once weekly; Thursday departure and Sunday arrival (CFS to CFS)
  2. Renovation of freight rate structure (introduction of tariff rate system)
  3. Start of Web-based transport status tracking service (Shuttle System)

Transport status can be checked on a special page set up for each customer

In keeping with its Corporate Philosophy, Nippon Express is striving to create new ideas and value that expand the field of logistics by continuing to provide a wide range of transport services.
