Move aimed at stepping up heavy haulage & construction business in Southeast Asia
Nippon Express (South Asia & Oceania) Pte., Ltd. (Yasunori Takahashi, President), a subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Kenji Watanabe, President), recently established NEX GLOBAL ENGINEERING PTE., LTD. (hereinafter, "the new company"), which will begin overseeing heavy haulage and plant projects in the Republic of Singapore on July 1, 2016.
The countries of Southeast Asia have seen a recent boom in infrastructure improvements and plant construction, and demand for the installation/assembly of wind power generation facilities and plant equipment is likely to grow still further. By transporting and installing heavy equipment as well as participating in plant engineering projects, the new company will help customers expand overseas and provide one-stop support to meet all their logistics needs, including import/export, customs clearance, warehousing and domestic delivery of materials and products after plants have been set up.
Nippon Express has heretofore been involved in numerous heavy haulage and construction projects overseas, including construction of the Nghi Son Refinery in Vietnam and the Bintulu LNG Plant in Malaysia, and the new company will advance the global expansion of the heavy haulage & construction business advocated in the Medium-term Corporate Strategy.
