Nippon Express (South Asia & Oceania) Pte, Ltd. (Yasunori Takahashi, President), a subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd., recently established a Sri Lanka Branch in Colombo, the largest city in the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, and this branch will open for business on April 1, 2016.
Sri Lanka has seen infrastructure investment and other economic activity pick up considerably in recent years and, even as domestic demand increases, there is growing need for logistics services that meet export demand for apparel goods and agricultural and fishery products (the country's primary industries) and that utilize Sri Lanka as a logistics hub, taking advantage of its location between Europe and Asia.
In opening the Sri Lanka Branch, Nippon Express seeks to put in place a structure designed to broadly address these logistics needs and to enhance its services to meet a variety of customer needs, including the transport of construction equipment/materials and household removals for personnel posted to Sri Lanka.
