Nippon Express (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. (Yusaku Takahashi, CEO; hereinafter, "NE Suzhou"), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd., on March 3 hosted a company tour for 30 students from Miyazaki Municipal University participating in a short-term overseas study program at Soochow University. This is the tenth year that Nippon Express has participated in this cross-cultural exchange program, and its efforts have earned the appreciation of both universities.
This tour provides the Japanese students with an introduction to the Chinese economy and the current circumstances of Japanese companies operating in China, and offers them valuable opportunities to interact with professionals actually working in China. Accordingly, it is held in high regard by both the students' home university and their host Soochow University.
Miyazaki Municipal University has an academic exchange agreement with Soochow University, located in China's Jiangsu Province, and the two universities have been mutually exchanging students for short-term cross-cultural exchange programs every year since 1995.
One of NE Suzhou's employees is a graduate of Miyazaki Municipal University who spent one year in Suzhou on a publicly-funded overseas study program, and it was through this connection that NE Suzhou in 2007 began the now decade-long company tour program.
Nippon Express remains committed to advancing friendly ties between Japan and China by supporting exchange between Japanese and Chinese university students.
