The Nippon Express Group's overseas locations have increased in number from 241 in 2000 to 481 as of September 2014, and these locations operate more than 30,000 vehicles inside and outside Japan. To reduce CO2 emissions and conserve the global environment, the Nippon Express Group has been introducing hybrid and other eco-friendly vehicles, conducting eco-driving education, and actively engaging in forestation activities in Japan. As its corporate activities become increasingly global, a global perspective on the company's social responsibilities is also needed.

For this reason, the Nippon Express Group has selected those issues among the many confronting the Group that should be given priority from a global perspective and has begun tackling these worldwide as part of the Nippon Express' Global CSR.

Together with placing greenery (plants) in all their offices under the banner of "responsibilities to the Earth's environment" to heighten employee awareness of the importance of reducing CO2 emissions, Group companies around the world will begin this April setting and implementing environmental conservation and CO2 reduction targets tailored to local conditions. Nine specific methods of supporting global environmental conservation - e.g., boosting logistics efficiency, improving transport modes, and carrying out environmental action programs - will be presented to offices, which will choose from among these the methods they themselves will undertake.

Posters bearing the Nippon Express corporate logo mark in green symbolizing these two approaches will be printed up and posted in offices in Japan and around the world to make employees aware that common action is being taken globally and to encourage them to participate.

The Nippon Express Group is well aware of the social and public missions expected of companies and will, as a good corporate citizen, engage in environmental management and pro-actively strive to contribute to conservation of the global environment.
